By tradition concurrently with the Competition in the period July 15 through 30, 2014 the International Summer Ballet Academy will be held with the participation of internationally renowned pedagogues :

Prof. Vladimir Vasiliev, Russia

Russian classical ballet tradition. “Don Quixote”

Vladimir Vasiliev finished the Moscow Choreographic School and immediately joined the ballet company of the Bolshoi Theater, where for thirty years he was premier dancer and one of the most asked for and invited artists in the world.

His new interpretation of the leading male part in Don Quixote in 1962 made a revolution in ballet, enriching the world classical ballet heritage.

In 1964 he became the first and the only so far holder of the Grand Prix in Group Seniors of the Varna International Ballet Competition. In the same year he was acknowledged by the Paris Dance Academy as „The Best Dancer in the World“.

Since 1971 Vasiliev has been staging ballet performances himself and often has played the leading parts therein. More than ten years Vasiliev taught a ballet master class at the State Institute of Theater Arts (Russian Academy of Theater Arts) in Moscow. From 1990, as professor, he headed the Choreographic Department of that Institute.

The National Artist of the USSR Vasiliev has been granted the most prestigious prizes and honors, among which the Paris Dance Academy’s „The Best Dancer in the World“, decorations and medals not only in Russia, but also in France, Italy, the USA, Brazil, Japan, Lithuania, UNESCO decoration.

Now Vladimir Vasiliev is member of the Russian Academy of Theater Arts, the Russian Academy of Arts and of the International Academy of Creative Endeavors. He is Honorary Professor of the Moscow State University and Doctor Honoris Causa of Center College in the USA.


Aurora Bosch    kuba  juri

Aurora Bosch, Cuba

Aurora Bosch was born in Havana, Cuba. She began her studies at Alicia Alonso’s Academy. Joined National Ballet of Cuba 1956. Became Principal Dancer 1967. Aurora has been a ballet professor with experience in Pedagogy of Classical Dance. Principal Maitre of Cuban National Ballet and Founder of National School, specialized in Methodology. Director of Havana Ballet School.Graduated with a degree in History of Art at the University of Havana. Assistant Professor at the Dance Faculty of High Level Institute of Art and Doctorate in Science of Art, Havana.


Biser Deanov

     Assoc.  Prof. Bisser Deyanov – Bulgaria

He started his professional training at the State Choreographic School in Sofia with L. Dinovska and K. Yankov. In 1968 he finished the Leningrad Choreographic School “А. Vaganova”, traning with V. Shelkov and G. Selyudskiy. Since 1970 he has been Premier Dancer of the National Opera and Ballet in Sofia. His debut was in Apollo of Mousagette by I. Stravinsky. He danced the roles of Siegfried in Swan Lake,
Desire in The Sleeping Beauty, the Prince in The Nutcracker by P. Tchaikovsky, Albert in Giselle by A. Adam, Basil in Don Quixote by L. Minkus, Spartacus in Spartacus by Khachaturyan, Romeo in Romeo and Juliet by S. Prokofiev, etc. He has worked with choreographers such as Y. Grigorovich, S. Lifar, O. Vonogradov, A. Alonso, O. Danovski, P. Loukanov, M. Arnaudova and other. He was guest artist in Europe, USA, South America and Asia.
In 1968 he was awarded First Class Distinction at the 4th International Ballet Competition in Varna. In 1973 he was awarded as Best Partner at the 2nd International Ballet Competition in Moscow. In 1974 he won the First Prize and a gold medal at the 7th International Ballet Competition in Varna.
He has many times taught at the International Summer Ballet Academy – Varna.
He was member of the jury of the international ballet competitions in Varna, Moscow, Paris and Osaka.
In 2008 he was Artistic Director of the Sofia Opera Ballet.
For 26 years he has been a teacher in the National School of Dance Art- Sofia.
He holds master’s degree in ballet pedagogy and ballet production from the
Academy of Music, Dance and Fine Arts in Plovdiv where he is teaching since 2001.


Sun Hee Kim-Korea

Prof. Sun-Hee Kim, Korea

А dance educator, scholar, artistic director, and choreographer. After graduating from the Department of Dance at the Ewha Womans University in Korea, Kim moved to New York to study at the Tisch School of the Arts in New York University, working with numerous dance companies as a dancer and choreographer. Then she moved to Saint Petersburg in Russia to further train herself in the classical ballet, where she completed the renowned Vaganova Teacher Training Program. Kim is currently a full-time faculty member in the School of Dance at the Korean National University of Arts (KNUA).



Prof. Natalia Tarasova, Russia

Head of Vaganova Russian Ballet Academy Department of Character, Historical, Modern Dance and Acting Skill. Honored Artist of Belarus. Author of books on the methods of teaching character dance. For several years she had classes in character dance at the Academy of Music, Dance and Fine Arts in Plovdiv.




Maurice Causey is an American born European based artist. He began studying Ballet at the age of 15 in his hometown of Florence,Alabama. His training includes School of the American Ballet,the American Ballet Theatre school, and the Joffery Ballet in New York City.
Maurice was for eight years a Principal Dancer with William Forsythe’s Frankfurt Ballet. He has also danced with the Cleveland Ballet, Pennsylvania Ballet, The National Ballet of Canada, and as Principal Dancer with the Gothenburg Ballet in Sweden.
Mr. Causey has been Ballet Master for both the Royal Swedish Ballet (2002-2003) and The Netherlands Dance Theatre 1 (2004-2010). He has choreographed original works for different companies. He has given workshops teaching Forsythe’s improvisational Technologies around the world and is currently a patron for the Austinmer Dance Theater in Australia directed by Michelle Forte.




Alfredo Torres was born in Havana, Cuba. He started dancing from early childhood and at 18 begins his training as professional dancer at Danza National de Cuba. After that he studies variety arts in Tropicana Cabaret of Cuba where he is performing as soloist for 10 years.
Since 2001 Alfredo is living in Bulgaria where participates as choreographer, dancer, mentor and juror in realities like Star Academy, VIP Dance, Dancing with the stars etc.
Alfredo has his own dance school in Sofia called AlfredoStyle. Alfredo is a finalist from the World salsa competition in USA.
